Day 3

Daily Quote:

There’s nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein. ~Walter Wellesley “Red” Smith

It sure does feel that way sometimes. Sit down and spill out your heart.

How are you doing so far? Making any progress? What do you think of writing and the quote above? When do you do your best work?

  1. Oh boy, is that quote a ripper!

Hmm…best work…for me, there’s nothing like the rush of a new book. I love it! I love the newness, the excitement, the rush of getting 2 characters to know each other.

Then the hard part starts…keeping the momentum going, developing their relationship, escalating conflict…agh!!

Do other people feel like this? That it’s so much easier to start a book than finish it?

Hope you’re all writing up a storm.
    I’ll pop back Monday :)

    With my whip ;)

In my previous life as a physio, my cardiac rehab class used to call me Madame Lash because I made them exercise no matter what…hmm…thinking I might have to resurrect the title for here :P

  2. Today I finally really met my male lead. He isn’t keen on sand despite being at an island resort. And he’s something of a wise cracker, but very determined.

I love when my chracters take some free reign in how they develop. It’s an exciting part of the writing process. So much so that today I did almost 1500 words, for a total to date of 3488. Too bad I have to go to work, or else I’d probably try to hit the ice cream store again. (Frozen yogurt, actually…I’d rather not have my reward calorie counts beating my word counts! LOL)

Only managed 900 words between yesterday and today. Weekends are so busy that it’s tough. :wall But I’m hopeful that Monday will be more productive. :write
