We thought we’d jazz things up a bit. Just because we’re writers doesn’t mean we can’t be fashionable after all. What do you think of the new design?
We’re still working on it and comments are welcome. This is your site to use and experience, so let us know what works for you.
Now, for the exciting news!
We have a workshop coming up and I’ll detail that in another post…
But… we’re having a Challenge in May!

Good luck everyone!
Here late (saw it via Emily Veinglory’s blog) but I love this sort of thing so sign me up too ^^
Ok it’s May Day also my f-i-ls b’day.
One of my fav people so I consider it a good omen. If I didn’t have to work all would be fine. Ive told hubby my plans and now off to write what I can before bed. Unfortunately the rent job requires I be up by 430am.
I managed 750 words today. I’m driven by the internal editor and I’m having trouble switching it off. While I’m away I’ll use the Alphie rather than haul my laptop, so that may help. :pound
1347 words today! :write :bounce :party
May 2nd…noon…3355 words for the day.
Best of luck, all!
Carol
8750 words s far. Best of luck to everyone.

May 2nd and a slow start…
1,274 words as of today.
Must crack whip and work harder.
Lara
I’m at 8,500 so far! Great challenge!
Slow start for three days I have about 2200 words. Hope to get more tomorrow. At least thats 2200 words I didn’t have. :cooldance
Okay for the May 5th check in…I’ve sped up slightly.
:)
I’m at 6,344 words since May 1. Woo Hoo!
Which means I’m 25% through.

My bad today, nothing written.
GOing to be early and hoping to get more written tomorrow.
Hello,
I want in the challenge even though I just found out about it.
Does this have to be a wip or an entirely new story?
Thanks,
LaSteph
Hey LaSteph,
It can be either. Whatever you want to work on.
Ok, Is anyone else having this problem. I do great on the weekends but during the week-forget it. Still I figure any little bit is better than nothing.
Absolutely! Even if you aim low – say 200 words a day – during the week that’s 52,000 words a year in just the weekdays alone. If you eek in a good writing filled weekend, you can easily pull off a novel in a year’s time.
As long as the progress is steady – even if slow – it’s still progress.

Ok, I’m at about 14,000 words. Which probably puts me a little behind the 8 ball as it were. But since I’m writing a historical fiction piece, that research won’t be doing itself. So I’m taking a break, checking in, and hoping someone will tell me to stop checking my myspace and facebook pages and get back to work.

Day 21
Reached total of 32,779 words. [goal 50K]
Good luck to all,
