The Call

An Unusual Call Story

My call story is unusual in that I met my publisher through a writing contest. Only, he wasn’t a publisher then; he was another contestant. Right from the start, he liked my writing and we became friends with others in the contest, ultimately starting a critique group together. Well, one time someone tossed out the idea that we should start our own publishing company and he just took that idea and ran with it. So, when everything was all set up and he was ready to roll, he sent me an email that more or less said, “Send me your manuscript.” So I did and that is how I became a published writer.
