I’d sold a story to Triskel, but I had a book that I’d written that, in my heart I knew it was the big one. I sent it to Harlequin’s Intrigue line. In the same week I sent off the query, I got the rejection. Tells me they didnt even look at it. I was crushed.
Well a lady, Sheila Hollway, was talking about her new house, By Grace Publications. I thought what can it hurt? I sent her the MS and less than 24 hours later I’d sold “Dante’s Duty” to By Grace for their January release. This book was the best selling novel for BG Jan, Feb, March AND April!
Today I’ve sold three novels to By Grace, the third one due in February. Also I’m currently in the process of writing a 4 book series for the sister publisher Moonlit Publishing.
While one day I’d eventually like to sell to a “big girl” house, I have to say,ePublishing is a GREAT feild to be in, we are the wave of the future! And working with By Grace has been such a pleasant and positive experience I’m thrilled to be part of such a family feeling company!
Donica Covey
Donica Covey makes her home in a suburb of St. Louis where she spends quality time with her large, loving and supportive family as well as three neurotic dogs and two teenage children. After her first book “Hawk’s Rayne” was released she quickly learned that writing “the end” on a book doesn’t really mean the end just a new beginning. When she can break the chains from her computer she can be found reading, hiking, ATVing or just playing cards with some friends.
